Eileen Morse Eileen M. Hahn (1918 - 2015)

Eileen Morse Hahn died on February 26, 2015 at the age of 96. Eileen was born on May 8, 1918 and raised in Oakland, California. She was a 1936 graduate of Oakland High School. Prior to her marriage to James D. Hahn III, she worked at The White House in San Francisco. Eileen was proud that her father graduated in the second medical school class from UC Berkeley in 1878. Many members of her family were associated with the University.

Eileen and Jim moved from Berkeley to Marin County with their three children in 1951, living first in Tiburon and later in Marinwood. Recently, she lived near her son in Vacaville. Always cheerful and kind, Eileen loved gardening, playing bridge with her friends, and reading. She enjoyed traveling. In 1989 she and Jim were in China, where he died from a heart attack.

Eileen enjoyed all family gatherings and will be much missed. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Fred W. Morse and Dora Craig Morse, and her brothers, Wellington Morse and Stanton Morse, and her husband, James D. Hahn. She is survived by her daughters Carole and Marcia, son Jim and his wife Elaine, grandson Andrew and his wife, Heidi, grandson Jeremy and his fiancee, Mercedes, and great-granddaughter, Abigail.

The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the James D. and Eileen M. Hahn Scholarship Fund at UC Berkeley, the Marin County Free Library Bookmobile, or a charity of one's choice.
