Block O 12/6/25 -2/11/11 Patricia Darblay, lovingly known as Mimi to her family, passed away in her sleep, after a three year battle with lung cancer. She was at home with her loving family. She was born in Berkeley, California, the only daughter of Harold and Maybelle Selleck. She had three brothers, Harold, Robert, and Richard. She grew up in Oakland, attended Oakland High School, and left school during the war to work as a switchboard operator. She met Jack Darblay at the 2AM Club in Mill Valley, and they were married in November, 1947. He was a motorcycle officer in the California Highway Patrol, and his job took them from Marin County to Redding, Santa Rosa, West Los Angeles, Eureka, and Napa. After his retirement they returned to Santa Rosa. Jack passed away in 1999. Patricia had four children, Jack Donald Jr, Suellen Darblay, Terri Fetzer, and Sandra Darblay. As a family they enjoyed camping, fishing and staying at the family cabin in Potter Valley, California. Patricia enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren, Skyler and Sierra. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, painting porcelain dolls, crab feeds, and Wednesday lunches with her girlfriends. She loved being surrounded by flowers and hummingbirds. She and Jack enjoyed traveling in their motor home and camping with the Sonoma County Oriental Band (Shriners), and she was a member of the Shebas. They also enjoyed going on cruises, and she was a member of the Captain's Circle of Princess Cruise Lines. She was known for a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. She is survived by her son Jack Jr "Buck", daughter Terri of Santa Rosa, and daughter Susie of Napa. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Marlene (Wayne) Robinson, Milissa (Dave) Gillihan, Aimee (Joe) Ryan, Jill (Ken) Patterson, Chris Hammaker, Samuel Hammaker, and Kristi Fetzer (Louis Blankenship), who provided wonderful loving care to Mimi during her last months. She is also survived by brothers Harold and Robert, and her sister-in-law Joanne. Patricia Selleck She also had nine great-grandchildren, Andrew, Patrick, and Jacob Robinson, Taylor and Drake Gillihan, Kayla and Jeremy Ryan, Skyler Hargrove, and Sierra Blankenship. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Jack, daughter Sandra Lee (1958), and brother Richard. Mimi was greatly loved by family and friends, and will be missed by all, especially by her cat, Little Bee. A Memorial Service is scheduled for March 12, 2011, in Santa Rosa, at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Please call 707-586-2756 for detailed information.
