Lura Mary Leal Resident of San Leandro Passed away on April 23, 2009. Lura was born in Oakland, CA on December 5, 1925. She attended Oakland High School. She married Ernest Leal on September 7, 1944 in Berkeley, CA while he was serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was a loving wife of 64 years. She was a 55-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary of San Leandro unit 117. She was a charter member of Alameda Cabane #257, the mother Cabane of de Societe de Femme in CA. She was a 45-year member and proud to receive an honorary life membership. She is survived by her husband Ernest, daughter Lillian Leal of San Lorenzo, CA, son Ronald Leal of San Lorenzo, CA, granddaughter Jamie Leal of Long Beach, CA, grandsons Lewis Walden of San Francisco, CA, Jeston Leal of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Walden and wife Anna of Brentwood, CA, great-granddaughters, Brooke, Cierra and Autumn Walden of Brentwood, CA.
