David Ernest Flores Oct. 16, 1926 - Nov. 22, 2010 Resident of Oakland David passed away Nov. 22 from complications of Alzheimer's disease, from which he suffered for 15 yrs. David was born in Richmond and grew up in Oakland, attending Golden Gate Academy, Oakland High, and Univ. of Ca. One of his first loves was sailing, introduced to him by his son. He started with a Cal 20, then Columbia 26, and finally a Catalina 30. He was a member of the Oakland Yacht Club for 42 yrs. Also a long time member of Oakland Hills Tennis Club, and The Home Club (a ballroom dancing club). David was a W.W.II veteran serving in the Navy on PC1132 USS Montrose in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife Pat, son Gregory Scott Flores (wife Alma), daughter Nancy Sue Wilbur (husband Kevin), step daughter Rhonda Lindquist (husband Gordon), stepson Steve Wenger, grandsons David Scott Flores and Joshua David Wilbur, stepgrandchildren Cierra and Erik Wilbur and Nate Lindquist. A memorial service will be held Dec. 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 911 Dowling Blvd., San Leandro, 94577, 510-569-7020.
