Former Bay Area Resident John David Busk was born in Los Angeles, to Martha Shank Busk and James Ludwig Busk. He was an active member of Troop 10, Boy Scouts of America at Dimond Park and achieved the rank of Eagle with a Palm. After graduation from Oakland High School in 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the South Pacific until the end of WWII.
It was his lifetime joy to improve properties, as well as working in new construction. He was active in the real estate business and a past president of the Dimond Merchants' Association. He was very ambitious and worked at what he loved right up until his sudden death at age 85. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Busk and is survived by his sister Alice Busk Sergeant of Vanderhoof, BC, Canada; sister, Margie Busk Arp of Oakland; and brother, Jim Busk of Oakland. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 1:00pm; First Covenant Church, 4000 Redwood Road, Oakland, CA. 510-531-5244.
