Born in San Francisco, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother lost her battle with asthma. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years George Wong, of Patterson; daughters Sandi Wong, Karen Dea, son-in-laws John Dietrich, James Dea; grandsons, Christopher & Clifton DerBing, Jason & Kenrick Dea. Bea is survived by two brothers: Robert Lee , of Sacramento and Walt Chinn, of Oakland. Furry feline friend, Maggie will miss Bea grabbing her tail!

Bea known as 'Queen Bea' was raised at Ming Quong in Los Gatos, attended Lincoln Elementary and Oakland High School. Received certification at an Oakland Cosmetology School, worked at an insurance company, a Bi-lingual representative at Home Savings & Loan, and owned Parkview Market with George for 10 years. Dancing to the Big Band music was always a delight, and was a faithful TV fan of Dancing with the Stars. Beatrice Lee WongFulfilled her lifetime goal in being an avid advocate for the Oakland Chinatown Community, known as an effective fundraiser promoter & was recognized highly for over 40 years of distinguished service achieving successful fundraising & community events. Participated in the following organizations: Chinese Woman's Society, a founding member and Secretary of the Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, Family Bridges, Inc, board member of the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, board member of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center-Asian Outreach Advisory, the longest serving member of 21 years as City of Oakland Library Advisory Commissioner - Chinatown Branch, Former President of Friends of the Asian Library for 15 years and a second-generation President of the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, Honorary Member of the Wa Sung Community Service Club, and recipient of the 2006 City of Oakland Mother of the Year.

Family and Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service and reception at The Oakland Asian Cultural Center, 388 Ninth Street-Suite 290, Oakland, CA on Sept. 25, 2011, Sunday, 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Oakland SPCA, Family Bridges Inc or Friends of the Asian Library.
