Leona Kane Leona Weissmann died Dec. 22 in West Sacramento. She was 79. A memorial service will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Adventure Christian Church in Roseville.

She was born Sept. 26, 1930, to Samuel and Mary Kane in Oakland. She graduated from Oakland High School and married Leo Weissmann in 1951. They took up residence in San Francisco.

Mrs. Weissmann was a homemaker, very involved in church activities and loved gardening. After the death of her husband in 1989, she contributed more than 2,000 volunteer hours to the Doelger Senior Center in Daly City, and remained very active in her church.

Leona Kane Weissmann Health issues made it necessary for her to move to the Sacramento area seven years ago to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Weissmann is survived by her children, Karen (Joe) Wellhoff of Rough and Ready, Derelynn Weissmann and Michael (Lynn) Weissmann; and grandchildren Maureen Weissmann, Anna Campbell and Amy Grandell, and Sela, Mason, Cohl and Jadon Weissmann.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Weissmann's honor may be made to the Doelger Senior Center in Daly City.
