Robert Booth Robert "Bob" G. Booth Dec 2, 1936 - April 2, 2011 Resident of Oakland Bob was an Oakland native who loved life and lived for speed, fun, and family. He was a SCCA member since 1971 and held multiple positions in the club, including President of the Licensing Committee. Bob not only enjoyed racing and building his cars, he also passed his knowledge on to others as an instructor with the Bob Bondurant Racing School. Trains and model railroads were also a passion of his and he built and won numerous awards for his layouts. He was also a member of Empire Builders Model Railroad Club, whose members will surely miss him. Travel was very important to Bob and he did so in many ways, whether by auto, cruise ship, plane, or his custom made "Silver Bullet" motor home. Much to the surprise of Judy, many trips were also by rail, as Bob constantly searched for steam trains. He was the loving husband of Judy for 38 years, adored father of Laurie Garcia, Trish Straus, Carole Vee, Bob Booth, Laury Booth, Cherri Booth, Leanna Sousa, and Duane Stewart. Bob was also the loving grandfather (Papa) of Richard, Gina, Carrie, Vivian, David, Robbie, Robert James, Christine, Jered, Ashley, Amber, Michael, and 13 great-grandchildren. Bob's professional life was varied. He initially was an engineer at Lockheed Aerospace, then proceeded to open multiple businesses of his own, including Inspec Mfg, Halo Products, Bell Motorsports, and PyroTect. Robert BoothHe also did engineering designs for the rotary engines of Mazda Auto Co. Holder of numerous US and International patents, most of which were conceived on napkins at Kasper's Hot Dogs.
