Ken Gunter

Ken Gunter Jay Kenneth Gunter, of Oakland, California, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 5, 2003 of a heart attack. His remaining family includes his loving wife, Arenda Van Sloten Gunter, his children, Kenneth Scott Gunter, Caroline Wilson, and Michelle Gunter and five grandchildren, Jessica, Jake, Jordyn, Kayla, and Kristen. He was predeceased by his brother, Dean Gunter and his mother, Susan Irene Gunter and his father, John Kenneth Gunter. Retiring from the US Army as a Lt. Col., he was also active in the reserves. In his retirement years he was active as a financial planner and tax accountant. He enjoyed hiking, traveling with his wife, Arenda, and visiting with family. He was an avid reader and enjoyed wine tasting. His dry sense of humor will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 2914 Encinal Ave., Alameda, CA. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
