Sue Sowden

Sue passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 29th at the age of 72 after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Southern California on November 21st 1945 to Mary and Robert Nadeau, and was the second of three girls. She attended Oakland High School, San Francisco State University and University of Washington. On November 25th 1967 she married Donald Sowden, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Sue held a master's degree in marriage, family and child counseling and was an accomplished artist, writer and seamstress. She also enjoyed world travel.

She is survived by Donald, her husband of 50 years, four adult children - Kenneth, Teresa, Andrew and Phillip - and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Catherine in 1996. A sixth child, Benjamin, was lost during pregnancy in 1976. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held for close family and friends on Friday January 5th.
