Jeffrey Thomas Jennings, 5th generation of Oakland, California. Born March 14, 1947 in Oakland and passed away in Oakland on May 1, 2015 at age 68.
Jeff was a kind, generous and loving son, brother, uncle, friend, husband and father. He worked hard all of his working life as a HVAC Installer. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his work, especially being outside. He loved to start work early and get off early so that he could attend his daughters' high school practices and games- they do not remember him missing a single day! Jeff deeply loved his family and cared for his parents during their final years, bringing them comfort and peace. He was also an extraordinary son-in-law who took exceptional care of his mother-in-law. Jeff was humble, empathetic, compassionate, loyal, generous and always gave a helping hand. He never complained about his medical challenges and always kept a positive attitude and a comforting smile.
Jeff and Paula were childhood neighbors and grew up together, marrying in 1969. They had two daughters: Kirsten Inga Jennings and Kendra Hjordis (Jennings) Hobbs. They raised their family on the same street where they both grew up. Jeff leaves a lifetime of memories for his family, friends and everyone that knew him. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Jeff was preceeded in death by his loving parents, Harry and Jeanne Jennings; his brother, Patrick; his parents-in-law Donovan and Kirsten Speer; and brothers- in-law, Ronald Gordon and Roger Cargile.
