Slade, Ruth Marrow Dec. 23, 1912 - Jan. 01, 2004. She was a Member of Theta Sigma Phi, Rho Chapter, NYU, 1937, President of Women in Communications, Berkeley-Oakland Chapter, 1969-1970-1971, and Women in Communications V.P. Membership, LA Chapter, 1981-82. She was President of the Journalism Educators Association of Northern California, 1971-72, and honored with the Journalism Educator Award from the California Newspaper Publishers Assoc. in 1971. Ruth was an active member of the Plato Society at UCLA.

The wife of Albee Slade, 1913-1975, she is survived by her family, Stephanie Slade, Yana Slade, Paula Miller, and two grandchildren, April and Albion Z. Yi. A memorial celebration of her life will be held at the Brentwood Hamburger Hamlet, 3- pm on Sun., Jan. 25, 2004. Donations may be made to the following organizations in her name.
