Lester McDonald was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, July 12, 1943. He moved to Oakland, California at the age of eleven months with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Callis McDonald. Mr. McDonald attended grammar school at Willow Manor, Jr. High school at Lowell and Frick and graduated from Fremont High school in 1960. Mr. McDonald was an outstanding and beloved teacher in the Oakland Public School district, teaching at McClymonds and then at Oakland High School where he served until his untimely death. Mr. McDonald will be sincerely missed at Oakland High School. We at Oakland High School pity the schools that were not fortunate enough to have such a bright spot such as Mr. Lester McDonald, in their school environment. We also pity the students that were not fortunate enough to attend one of his many math classes. Mr. Lester McDonald's memory will live on at Oakland High School.
